“5 Seconds” is another PBR rider giving his all. These athletes have to ride for 8 seconds to get a score, and it is incredible to see what they do to prepare for 8 seconds. I wanted to bring that tension into the painting, which brings the observer into slight conflict while visually absorbing the process of putting this together. “5 Seconds” was one of the original first Western Cubists I sketched out and finally gave it life.
